I will offer You my grateful heart, for I am Your unique creation, filled with wonder and awe. You have approached even the smallest details with excellence; Your works are wonderful; I carry this knowledge deep within my soul.
– Psalm 139:14 The VOICE
We are all made in the image of God in all our diversity. Every skin colour, every (dis)ability, every sexuality and gender expression.
Pride Sunday, the first week in June, gives us an opportunity to shout these truths to the roof tops! But each community also celebrates at different times during the summer. Here are a few ideas to help make your celebrations special.
The younger generations have great B.S. meters, and they know when you’re not living out what yo preach. And, with even more gender creative and queer kids finding themselves and sharing their wholeselves in our churches and communities we want to truly be the safe and trusted adults they need.
So, as you think of ways to celebrate Pride, be sure to think about what it means to live it out each week, not just once a year. What does pride look live every day, not just when it’s a fun party?
When we think Pride we often think of the rainbow flag. But there are so many more flags to represent the LGBTQ2IA+ community! Here’s a few you might want to familiarize yourself with.
