Recently our Narrative Lectionary reading was the healing of the man born blin in John 9. Since the younger children have been respond well to sensory bin activities we place two tubs at the back of the church with a sign. Children were invited to cover their little people in mud as Jesus does the man in our story and then “send them” to the Pool of Siloam to wash!
Great conversations were had between the adults at the back and the children. We had a big pile of little figures and all were thoroughly muddied and washed by the end of the service.
Be sure to provide amble cloths and towels for drying off!
