Little Fish

Little Fish: swimming after jesus

Pair this simple pipe cleaner and bead craft with a reading of the Feeding of the 5,000 (Matthew 14:13-21; Mark 6:31-44; Luke 9:12-17; or John 6:1-14)! Using the ancient theologian, Tertullian’s, words we can think of ourselves as “little fish” following after Jesus’ example.

Did you know that ichthys, the Greek word for “fish” was used as an acrostic for Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour? That was part of why the Early Church latched on to it as their symbol.

There are also plentiful stories of fisherman, seas, fish and water in our Gospels to connect Jesus with. What’s your favourite fish story?
